Louis Uzor
Policy Director
As Policy Director, Louis focuses on projects concerning the set-up and workings of carbon removal markets. Louis’ ambition is to sustainably scale CDR in a way that allows for a new economic sector to emerge and provide a service to the public and lower actual temperatures.
Before joining Carbon Gap, Louis has been busy with MRV, certification and corresponding policy challenges for Direct Air Capture whilst working for Climeworks. He has been endeavoring to get the CDR sector to (self-)impose regulations and agree on standards to guide its future via work on projects for the Negative Emissions Platform, SBTi or the GHG -Protocol, alongside involvements in various projects trying to standardise the way we account for CDR, both in VCM initiatives as well as public regulations.
Louis has a background in economics with studies in Basel, Vienna and Tokyo but continues to learn about CDR daily. He is still grappling with with the exciting prospect of spending an entire life working on CDR.
