Rodica Avornic
Policy Director
As a Policy Director at Carbon Gap, Rodica leads two of the organisation’s strategic pillars: Governance & Standards and Supporting CDR Supply. She oversees Carbon Gap’s positioning and advocacy on the European Climate Law revision, the upcoming implementation package, as well as financing and funding frameworks for CDR and key aspects of EU industrial policy. Rodica joined Carbon Gap three years ago to contribute meaningfully to Europe’s leadership on climate action and carbon dioxide removal.
Rodica moved to Brussels a decade ago, following a traineeship at an EU agency in France. Before joining Carbon Gap, she worked across think tanks and public affairs consultancies on EU climate, energy, and environmental policy.
She holds an LL.M. in European Legal Studies from Europa-Kolleg, University of Hamburg, and a Bachelor of Laws from the Alexandru I. Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. Originally from the Republic of Moldova, Rodica is fluent in Romanian and English.
