A transatlantic dialogue: carbon removal policy in the EU and USA

We must open the door to CDR policy opportunities and bridge the gap that separates the EU from the USA if we want to reach our global climate goals. Join us on online, 17 January at 16:30 CET (10:30 ET) as we speak with key CDR policy stakeholders and experts from both the EU and US.

In this first webinar of our EU/USA comparison, we will be examining each region’s current policy landscape and the gaps in their approach to carbon removal. In doing so, we aim to identify means to connect CDR policies and stakeholders on both sides of the pond and support international CDR policy progress.

To start off 2024, we will examine what the current outlook of CDR policy looks like within each region and how we can bridge the Atlantic for more cooperation in deploying these key technologies.

Speakers:
ROry Jacobson – CDR Lead, US Department of Energy
Giana Amador – Executive Director, Carbon Removal Alliance
Mark Preston Aragonés – Policy Manager, Bellona Europe
Christian Holzleitner – Head of Unit for Land Economy and Carbon Removals, European Commission DG CLIMA
Eve Tamme, Moderator – Managing Director, Climate Principles
