Matteo Guidi

Senior Policy Analyst

Matteo is a Senior Policy Analyst in our Brussels office, where he focuses on advancing EU policies for carbon removals. He joined Carbon Gap pushed by the motivation to continue advocating for clean-energy solutions and support the organisation’s goal of making Europe a leader in carbon removal.

Previously, Matteo worked as a policy advisor for European associations in the fields of energy efficiency and urban green infrastructure as part of a sustainability consultancy. He has experience in engaging with policymakers and contributing to developing advocacy campaigns for different organisations.

Matteo has lived and breathed European politics since late 2015, when he moved to Brussels to complete a two-year master’s degree at the Institute for European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in International Sciences from the University of Studies of Milan.

Originally from Italy, Matteo is fluent in Italian, English, and French and has an intermediate level of Spanish.
