

Agnese Ruggiero
As Associate Policy Director at Carbon Gap, Agnese oversees the development and implementation of Carbon Gap’s EU advocacy strategy. Her primary focus is on influencing the 2040 climate framework and ensuring that carbon removal remains a top priority in the upcoming EU legislature.
Agnese joined Carbon Gap with the desire to contribute to the EU’s efforts to develop a robust strategy for carbon removal and to make sure the EU reaches climate neutrality by 2050 through a just and inclusive transition.
Agnese brings ten years of experience in advocacy, awareness raising and coalition building in Brussels. Before joining Carbon Gap, she spent more than four years at Carbon Market Watch working on EU carbon pricing and industrial decarbonisation policies. Prior to that, she worked for six years in a medical organisation as Campaign Manager for their flagship awareness campaign.
Agnese holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Social Science from Bocconi University and a Master’s degree in Global Health and Development from Maastricht University.
