EU Soil Health Law

Carbon Gap's response to the EU Soil Health Law
Carbon Gap EU policy consultation feedback

Carbon Gap responded to the EU’s Public Consultation Questionnaire on a possible Soil Health Law.

Carbon Gap proposed that the EU establish the following:

  • a scientifically-robust, measurable, and verifiable definition of soil health that includes optimising soil carbon levels.
  • legally binding baseline standards for soil health and sustainable soil use, while allowing for tailored approaches.
  • a set of policies that guide and incentivise actions towards meeting Soil Health targets.
